I was trying today to customize the icons on my MacBook, but having problems. Some of the icons work fine, but most are only showing the preview image instead of the file preview. If I open the images up in Photoshop and resave them, they show the preview, but not with a transparent background, despite that the images themselves have transparent backgrounds, so I can't use it as an icon. It doesn't seem to matter what file type it is. What is odd is that, for example, some .png files show the preview fine, transparent background and all, while other .png files will not work!

Help!

ETA: I'm using Photoshop CS3 Beta, don't know if that has anything to do with it. OS X 10.4.9

NEVERMIND. I downloaded Pic2Icon to take care of the problem manually. It's still annoying that transparent images save their previews with backgrounds, but I can fix it now.
