Hello all, I am new here. I searched for a relevant existing topic but didn't quite find one. Here's my situation:

iMovie will no longer recognize my Canon ZR200. I get the "No Camera Attached" message. iMovie worked fine with the camera until recently. I have also tried my friend's Sony Handycam, but no luck there either. System profiler does not see anything attached to the Firewire ports.

Here's what I have done already:

Read every Apple forum/support page I could find
Verified that the cameras are supported (both have worked previously)
Bought/tried a new Firewire cable
Reset the Firewire ports
Reset the PRAM
Deleted all plist files related to iMovie
Done all the Sony specific fixes listed on various forums
Reset the clocks on the cameras
Repaired disk permissions
Tried every possible combination of camera on/cable connect/iMovie start
Updated iMovie to latest version
Left camera on & attached for up to 20 minutes
Tried both Firewire ports

Here are my specs:
G4 Dual 533
10.4.4
1.12 GB RAM
iMovie HD 6.0.3

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Looks like you have done all the usuals. How about re-installing iMovie? A file may have gotten corrupted. It's best to use Spotlight and remove all traces of the program first and then use your install disc and re-install it. Also may I ask why are you so far behind from the latest version of OSX?
