I made a song in Garage band including vocals, guitars, and many other things. I used a lot of tracks. I liked how it sounded in Garage Band, so my plan was to get it onto myspace so I could share with close friends.

The problem is, after I click the "Export Song to Disk..." option and get it into itunes, the quality is just terrible. The distorted voice I used sounded so much cleaner in Garage Band, but when i conveted it into m4a format, it sounded so bad that I had to change some effects. The whole song sounded like a mess. So I converted it into mp3 format, and uploaded it to myspace, and it still sounds like a mess.

I tried locking all the tracks before exported the song to disk drive, but no luck at all.

So my question is, is there any other ways I could get songs from Garage Band into mp3 format with out losing so much quality? Or are most songs going to sound way better when played in garage band?...

thanks. any replies are highly appreciated.

if you go to Garageband's Preferences, under the export settings you can change the quality from the default to High Quality and it outputs a 192kbps m4a file...
