Hello,
Here's an Ultrabeat question that's been bugging me for a while - how do I change the sequenced drum pattern mid-song? For instance, how do I change from "Pattern #D" to "Pattern #F" at the 8th bar? As is, I have multiple Ultrabeat tracks set up and just mute the ones I don't want playing at any given time, but this takes up TONS of RAM. I've consulted the manual and not found any help so I'm hoping someone in here can give a tip.
And while you're at it - any suggestions for other, more flexible drum machines that work in Logic?
Thanks!
P

When you use iDrum as a plug-in, you can write multiple patterns, then change the patters from one to the next via automation data. Maybe it works the same with ultrabeat? Turn on automation for the track & see if it offers anything in the pop-up menu where you chooses what automation to display in the track (arrange window).
Edit: sorry, can't check Ultrabeat, as I'm still stuck with Logic 6.

Unfortunately all that comes up are a bunch of individual drum parameters. There's no way to actually switch between the patterns.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Well, there is this: EXS24 Instruments - Logic Caf
which is a roundabout bastard of a method, but it actually works well and can be saved as part of the Autoload song, so you don't need to set up the loop every time...
You're still limited to the 25-sample maximum of Ultrabeat, though. I'd assume that limit is absolute per track, as loading new samples takes more time and hard drive access than is realistically available during song playback.
