I needed to move my library to another drive because it needed more space. After copying the files over, I changed the location of the library in iTunes, but now the program cannot locate the files. The song lists are still there (with their associated ratings). I could add to the library but a duplicate file is shown in iTunes and the ratings are lost.

Obviously I do not want to have to reset the location of every song or set their ratings again.

Anyone with any ideas?

Thanks, Neil

The best way to move your library (I think!) is to leave the files where they are, select a new library destination under iTunes and then consolidate your library (which copies all the files there) then delete the files from there original location and pint itunes to the new library on startup.

Yup - I read that all too late on the Apple website. At the moment I am linking each song in iTunes to the file in the new location. With over 4000 songs it's gonna take a while but will be faster than setting the ratings again.
