I'd like to simplify a process to help my brother out. What I need to do is this:

Take an album of photos that he's created in iPhoto, export them to a folder as jpeg files at a set size (i.e. using the Export dialog box), ask for him to insert a blank disc, ask for a name for the disk then burn the disk itself. The contents of the folder would then be deleted. This disk of jpegs would then play in his DVD player (we've tested it and it works fine).

Am I expecting too much of Automator? The iPhoto Burn Disk command is no use as that creates a disk to use in iPhoto, it's not just straight files.

Any help appreciated!

This works for me:

1. Finder -> New Folder

2. iPhoto -> Get Specified iPhoto Items

3. Finder -> Copy Finder Items (you'll have to create the folder to put it into this step; don't worry, because you can delete it later and it'll get automatically made by step 1)

4. Preview -> Change Type of Images

5. Preview -> Scale Images

6. System -> Burn a Disc (this is the one part that fails your requirements, as I don't see any way to ask the user for the name of the disc. You can have a standard name and have it append the date after it, though)

7. Finder -> Get Specified Finder Items (select the folder, which has to exist, as in step 3)

8. Finder -> Move to Trash

Voilà!
