Sorry for that long title; but I have a problem, specifically with the BBC news site. When I go to almost any page on the news site I will very often get an outdated version of the page (days, sometimes even weeks old).

At first I thought this was an issue with Camino, but I've been trying out Safari too and the same thing happens. Thus, I suppose this is an ISP issue of them giving me the cached page instead of the new one. Anyone know how I can overcome this? It's becoming quite annoying to always click shift-reload.

Other than pressing the refresh button I don't think there is a feature in the browser to constantly load the freshest page. You can also try setting your history to only save for 1 day. I know Opera will allow you to always empty your cache when closing Opera but that doesn't solve your problem if the page changes within the day. Basically empty your cache files and hit the reload button.

what i've done in safari;
go to users>homefolder>library>caches.
find the safari folder, empty it.
then do a 'get info' on it, and...lock the folder.
(you may have to do this again after repairing permissions or system updates).
voila! no cache, and safari can ONLY load pages from the web...

(there are shareware apps that offer this function as well, ie onyx...)

If you empty your cache and still get an old web page, then my guess would be that your ISP is caching that page and whenever you request that page your ISP is saving bandwidth by giving you an old copy of that page. Explore the web site for your ISP or call their help desk.
