In final cut pro, I'll frequently be in the middle of a huge render, leave the app, and in activity monitor it will show that I still have 1 of 2 gigs free, and only a fraction of the processors being used. Any way to increase the amount of power FCP and similar programs can pull? Know why it may only use so little of the machine while in the middle of something heavy with a big wait time? I'd rather it power through and take less time.

thanks.
