I don't know much about the technical side of computers at all, so I'm a little lost in my search for a windows emulator. There's like 2 programs that I want to run that are windows only, and I don't think they use much ram. I just need something basic to get the job done.

Before we can offer suggestions, we need to know what type of CPU you have. If you're unsure, click on the Apple button, then "About This Mac." Under processor, it'll either mention an Intel or a G3/4/5 processor.

If your computer is an Intel computer, you want Parallels Desktop for Mac. If not, your best bet is Microsoft's Virtual PC 7.

CodeWeavers - CrossOver Mac is another, lower-cost option for Intel Macs, assuming the apps you want to use are popular.

o my mistake
I have the 1.67 Ghz PowerPC G4 (pre-intel). The windows app looks great, but costs more money than I have. Is there anything free out there?

There's only one option available: Virtual PC.

Or Bochs or Qemu...

Both are very slow though.
