I just purchased an LG enV (VX9900) and I think I am really going to like it. However, it is not supported by iSync (I knew that going in), and I would really like to sync my iCal with this phone. I downloaded BitPim and am looking at that, but apparently (1) I need a cable -- no bluetooth support (O.K., I can buy a cable), and (2) from what I am seeing I can only backup what is on the phone to the computer with BitPim. Is that correct? If not, how would I go about syncing my calendar with my phone?

I am open to other suggestions, some searching has not turned up anything. Only things I find talk about syncing contacts. I don't want to do that because I have many more contacts in my address book than I want to have on my phone. All I want is my calendar. Would love bluetooth syncing, but will go cable if necessary. Any ideas?

I have paired my phone via bluetooth with my MacBook, and they see each other just fine (have not successfully connected to the intenet yet, but did not have time to get into that -- will try again when I do have some time), so I know the bluetooth functions between them.

Thanks in advance!
Mary

I'm in the same boat with my LG8300. While bitpim does work, it's kind of a pain. It doesn't sync automatically, you have to export data as a vcard file from the phone and import into address book and vice-versa. Same with calendars. Not too bad if you don't do it very often.
You only have to export the records you want on the phone, not everything.

It is good for getting data and custom ring tones on the phone though. So for me it was worth the $20 for the cable even though I've only used it a few times.

This board has lots of good info about phones including turning on hidden features etc. :

Yes, HowardForums is where I got what little info I have already. So, I have to export my iCal to BitPim then to the phone? What file do I need to export to BitPim? Or will it point me in the right direction whey I try? Not at the mac right now, and won't even have time to look into this further until the weekend, but hoping to get some instructions/direction so that I can dive right in.

Thanks!
Mary
