We use a PDF preflight app called Synapse Prepare with Quark Xpress 6.52 that has a tendency to crash when it does the handoff of a PDF job to Acrobat Distiller v.7.07. On some of our machines (all running System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.9 (8P135) Kernel Version: Darwin 8.9.0) the process runs fine, on others Synapse Prepare crashes at the handoff. We've tried reformatting/reinstalling, and that doesn't work. I suspect some user system file is hanging on during the reinstalls, but don't know which ones.
Kodak politely told me to go screw myself when I tried their tech support, and the vendor we bought it from (the supposed tech support source) doesn't have a clue.
Does anyone know where I can look for possible solves/fixes for this?
