I just need a simple, free application to do this. Any help would be more than appreciated.
If possible, I'd also like to find a way to save Apple Movie Trailers, but I don't have QuickTime Pro.

I have Flip4Mac, but that only plays .wmv files. I want to actually convert them, so I can load them in to iTunes. Unless it can convert, and I'm just unaware of it.

What if you open the .wmv file in QuickTime (with flip4mac installed) and file > export from Quicktime?

You want MPEG Streamclip. Uh, maybe.

Drop your .wmv file on the application icon. After the video opens, choose Save As. You are given the choice of MOV, AVI, and MP4. Choose MOV.

This doesn't *convert* the file. It merely *encloses* the .wmv inside a .mov file. (This may not be a desirable solution for you. Yes, iTunes and FrontRow will gladly play this wmv/mov hybrid file, but your iPod can't play it.)

Movie trailers? Dunno.

If you have Flip4Mac installed but lack QuickTime Pro, just download QTAmateur and you can export from that.

I think if you do either of these things, the Flip4Mac plug-in will lay an ugly watermark over the converted movie.

Just pay $29 for Flip4Mac Player Pro. It'll be worth it for you.

Requires QuickTime Pro.

Awesome! Just what I needed! I don't have an iPod, and probably wont for a long time, so this is the perfect solution for now! Though I'm not sure that makes it a solution...

It gets a watermark, but thanks.

For the last, yes, but with the first, you need QT Pro.

But then I would just get QuickTime Pro.

Well thanks everyone, especially lpkmckenna. I got what I needed! If anyone knows how to save the movie trailers though, that would still be great to hear

I'm a little late on this, but iSquint can convert WMV's.
iSquint - iPod Video Made Easy.

It doesn't export to .mov, but once you have it in .MP4 it will be much easier to find something that does MP4 to MOV.
