What can I do? I imported scanned photos from a CD-R into iPhoto. After that, the program won't do anything. I can open it, the photos are visible, but when I click on anything (photo, file, etc) the rainbow wheel spins and then the program shuts down. I have the latest update of 6.0.6 that I thought would fix it. Please help. Thanks.

Thanks for the help. I did that, but the program responds in the same way. Do you have any other suggestions that might help?

Reinstall iPhoto, I guess.

btw, what does iPhoto have to do with iMacs, eMacs, and Mac Minis?
Signature depreciated.

All new Macs come with a software restore DVD, and if you purchased a used Mac you should make sure you get the software restore DVD with it (though if it's an older Mac it might have come with an older version of iPhoto). Anyway, reinstalling iPhoto will most likely not fix your issue. A resinstall almost never fixes problems with applications.

Things you might try:

a) quit iPhoto, then hold down the option and the command key and double-click in Finder to launch it again. Let it rebuild the database and miniatures in the dialog that shows up now.

b) if that doesn't help, find the newly imported pictures in Finder and move them out of the iPhoto library folder.

If neither helps, post the crash log here. Maybe someone sees something that can give a hint at where the problem is.
