My son has his own MacBook and email address. I am selective with him using it but the problem is he's getting more and more trouble with junk email. I have tried blocking certain repeat emailers but still the emails of course show up in the Junk folder so he can still look there to see blocked email. Also, he has figured out how to go into the Preferences to remove these blocked emailers.
I know I could simply ban him from email but is it possible to have it send junk mail to another folder that he can't view. Or is there a 3rd party program i can use that he won't be able to delete these blocked email addresses?

How old is your son? Spam is a fact of life for all of us - unless you want to have all his mail go to an address you read first, and then send it on to him, you're pretty much going to have to either ban him from using the internet and email, trust him to make appropriate decisions about what to look at.

You can't really block all spam effectively, there is no feasible way to do this. Forbidding your son to send and receive e-mails is myopic, it's something he has to know these days, it's as ubiquitous as toasters and refrigerators these days.

A few years ago, people would still be ashamed of getting penis enlargement mails, thinking it had something to do with the websites they've visited. Nowadays, it's just that common that nobody takes offense anymore.

Teach him how to deal with these things responsibly instead of worrying.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I highly recommend JunkMatcher

I suggest starting a new account for him and teaching him to not give it out to websites or anyone he doesn't know in real life.
