Hey I just got my Macbook yesterday and I was trying to figure out how to get Video chat going. I downloaded Adium which is great but has no video support. Also, Adium has trouble connecting to my AIM account. I downloaded AIM and got that to work. I downloaded Microsoft Messenger and it doesn't let me log in. Now wih iChat, I can't log into my same AIM account, which I just logged onto using AIM a moment ago. Help?

Basically, I get talk to friends on MSN messenger using Adium only and my AIM friends on AIM only.

After I get that fixed, does iChat let me video chat with people on Windows boxes?

edit: I solved all the problems with the exception of MSN Messenger not working, but I really like Adium so I'll use that.

If you solved 'all the other problems' would you care to tell me how? I have set up ichat on my MacBook Pro but I have no clue how to use it! I'd like to be able to video chat with my grown dau. who lives out west but I am embarassed to say I am clueless! Does she just need to get an AIM acct (she has a windows machine) and set that up on her end to make it work. I hate to sound like a ditz but I find this whole thing confusing.

Thanks.

I got AIM to work through iChat but no voice. Go download skype. Works great (when they are up). Video and voice are supported. Tried yahoo messenger, no voice but does have video. Skype seems the way to go.
