Hey guys, I have quite a few DV tapes sitting around on my hard drive. At 9-13 gigs apiece, it's time to back some of them up. Is there any way to back them up to DVDs and be able to later bring them back into iMovie? I know I can burn two to a disc using iDVD, but I don't know if I can get it back into iMovie out of that. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
-Jeremy

You should be able to burn them as data discs and not burn them as a playable-type of DVD. At 9+ gigs each, you may have to burn them with something like Toast to span discs.

Well, I was hoping to be able to minimize it to one disc per tape, but I guess I'll take what I've got. Also, now I can't see how to span multiple discs- I think the problem is that it's one file. I select "Mac Only" and it says that it will span multiple discs, but then when I ask it to burn, it says that there isn't enough room! Oh well, I guess I'll just divide the iMovie file up.
