Hi All,

In years past Safari would allow you to turn on "Allows Expired Certificates" in order to not be annoyed by Certificate warnings. Now, however, you can't turn it off. It's simply grayed out. Is there any way to *force* it from the command line? I have a few specific sites that I attend almost daily and I tire of the popup warning me about the certificate. I understand the safetly issues etc, but I still want it to stop. Please advise.

Regards

Are you talking about the beta?

I'm talking about Safari, period. In years past you could turn off certificate checks. You could actually select "Allows Expired Certificates". Now, however, that is gone. I'd switched to Camino for a while but came back when Safari 3 came out. FYI, the latest versions of Safari 2.x are the same way; the option is there, but grayed out. I just want it to quit informing me about certificates. I don't care if they're old or expired, I just want the site to load without the need for user interaction.

It looks like this has been an issue for a couple of years now:

I don't have an answer. Contact David Hyatt.

Thanks, I would, but I see no e-mail address for him. Do you have it?

I think this would be more of a Safari thing than a WebKit thing, so file a bug with Apple.
