I'm trying to figure out why a friend of mine keeps getting duplicates when he merges his contacts between his address book and his blackberry.

He has a MBP 2.16 c2d and a Blackberry 8703e.

If I set PocketMac to overwrite the device (delete all info from blackberry, copy info from mac -> blackberry) everything works peachy.

If I then set PocketMac to merge the data between the blackberry and the laptop, I end up with duplicates.

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Only doing a one way sync is not a feasible option. The guy inputs contacts all day long and needs them to go from his phone -> mac. He also inputs contacts from his emails on his laptop to his address book and needs those to show up on the blackberry.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Lately i've found PocketMac doing this as well for a few people but works fine for others. I've had two setups, one that works and the other that doesn't sitting next to each other and have gone through all the settings i can think of to find out why, but couldn't. Both have the same laptop and blackberry device.

I gave up in the end and told them to buy Missing Sync for BlackBerry, which so far seems to work with the exception you have to use it's own Notes program for them to sync instead of Stickies on the Mac - which took the guy some time to get used to.
