I was planning on asking this question on their support forums, but no joy--their site appears to be partially down.

My problem is that the incoming text for my contacts is tiny. I've tried upping it, but it still comes in the wrong side of minute; the annoying thing is that it works fine for the text my end, but not for the text they send. Adium is not set to accept my other contact's custom fonts, so what's the problem? Any ideas how to fix this?

It turned out that it was the messaging theme I was using. I changed theme and it sorted it out. Thanks anyway!
