Firefox Error Code ...HELP

I love Firefox, but for the last couple days, I get a constant error message: Alert:[Exception..."Component returned failure code: 0x800ffff [NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED)

Can someone please help me restore Firefox to working order. I have fought this for days!

A dialog box pops up everytime I try to open Firefox. As the homepage or ANY webpage is trying to load, this error message keeps popping up. I click on the x to close the error message, and in a second or two it comes up again. It is virtually impossible to use Firefox. I tried re-installing Firefox, but that did not help.
I'd appreciate any ideas. I really miss Firefox.

Yes, I do, but nothing has been added
lately.
