I've got thousands of images in my iPhoto library and I'm trying to be good about keeping them organized in albums, but now I've got more than 20 albums and I can't figure out if there's any way to sort them alphabetically or by any other attribute.

Is there a way to better organize albums in iPhoto? Can you create sub-albums, or would I have to create albums within separate iPhoto libraries? It's kind of like playlists in iTunes, they're a great way to organize music if you've got no more than a dozen.

Any suggestions?

Thank you, that sounds perfect.

Yeah, don't worry about me trying to do anything at the folder level. I thought I was slick organizing photos that way on my old Windows machine, and it actually made it harder to find and port things onto my Mac later on.

Thanks again!

You can create folders, for instance "Vacations" and then put your albums within those folders. Maybe an album for "Summer 2005" and one for "Fall 2006" or whatever. You can drag those folders up or down to any location on the sidebar that you want (alphabetically, etc.).

Just make sure that whatever you do, you do from within the app itself, NOT the library in finder. You will corrupt, lose and otherwise create havoc with your photos.
