I recently installed Adobe CS3 on my system. It spread all the various apps all over my Applications folder. I made a new folder, Adobe CS3, and moved all of the apps into that. Ever since I did whenever I open a app such as Photoshop it says
"Application has been moved from location in which it was nistalled. Some settings need to be repaired"
I can cancel and most of the time it seems to still load okay but most of the time I choose to repair it. It asks then for my password and does a repair and opens the application and it works fine.
What puzzles me is the next time I open an application it does the same thing. It works so it's not a big deal but I know I can fix it by moving the applications back to the original install locations but it's just sloppy that way and I just hate dealing with the prompt to repair every time. Is there a way around this?

I haven't used Adobe CS3 yet, but if you moved CS2 from one machine to another you had to make sure the folder in ~/Library/Adobe had the correct permissions to allow the Apps to work properly.

Is it possible to choose a folder when you first install CS3? i can't remember if CS2 did this, but some Apps do. Otherwise put them back to the where they were installed. Personally i rarely go into my Application folder, i just add the Apps i need to the Dock.

This might be a permission issue.

What I do to fix issues such as these is the following:

1. Insert your Tiger OS X install disc 1
2. Shut down your system
3. Turn it on while pressing the "c" key
4. A blue screen will appear with language options, choose your language option
5. (I have a German version so not sure what the titles on the top menu say in English) select disk utilities or service applications, whatever it says there
6. Select disk utility and select the volume you want to repair in the menu on the left
7. Now you will see a few options there. Click the "repair disk" or permissions (again, not sure what the exact phrasing is in the English version) and if there are any wrong permissions set, those will be corrected

8. After the procedure is done, close that window and choose your startup volume to restart your computer.
