Cannot transfer photos into Iphoto

Everytime i try to import my photos in Iphoto it says they are unreadable. All the photos are .JPG format. Anyone have a solution for this?

What are you importing from? Try opening them with GraphicsConverter. If it still doesn't load you have a problem. Try reformatting your memory card/stick (use camera to do it) if importing from camera. If some other source you'll need to provide us samples or a more detailed description.

I dont know if it makes a difference but i took the photos off a windows pc and put them on mbp. They open fine in preview just not in iphoto
