Thanks for any help you are able to give.

Authorisation 1, In 2003 a G3 Pismo died and took an authorisation life with it. HD available but no machine to boot it from.

Authorisation 2, Windows Dell died and took and authorisation life with it.

Authorisation 3, A G4 iMac has an authorisation,

Authorisation 4, An Intel Macbook has a authorisation life.

Authorisation 5, My MacbookPro was authorised but has had the mother board changed under warranty. Another authorisation life gone.

Hence I cannot authorise my MacbookPro with the new motherboard.

I'd like to ask Apple to de-authorise all accounts and start over.

Any chance of this happening?

"Make sure you deauthorize your computer before you upgrade your RAM, hard disk or other system components. If you do not deauthorize your computer before you upgrade these components, one computer may use multiple authorizations. If you find you have reached 5 authorizations due to system upgrades, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen. Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers or if you have used this option within the last 12 months.

To deauthorize all computers associated with your account:

Click iTunes Store in the Source pane.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All."

Thank you so much!

I guess I should have delved further into my account page.

Thanks for saving a whole lot of music for me.

Regards

Very interesting, I noticed the 'de-authorize all' button one time and I clicked on it since I forgot to de-authorize an iMac after I sold it.

I have 4 Macs (3 at home and 1 at work) and they are all able to playback music files from the iTunes store, however under computer authorizations on iTunes, it says '3 machines are authorized to play music purchased with this account.' Oddly enough, my work G5's hard drive went south last week and I had to install Tiger and apps from scratch.

Does anyone know if this works with Audible?
20" iMac Core Duo 2.0 GHz. | PowerMac G5 1.6 GHz. | MacBook Pro 2.0 GHz. | PowerMac G4 Digital Audio 733 MHz.
