I use lots of different browsers (Safari, Camino, Opera, Shiira, Netscape, et al.) under Mac OS X and also IE 7 under Windows. I wonder if there's a good strategy for synchronizing my bookmarks for all of them.

It would be a lot of trouble to say, create a MySQL database of bookmarks and have some elaborate extension for each browser that queries that database and generates bookmarks in each browser on-the-fly. In fact, if I went to that trouble and could make it work, I'd probably have a semi-marketable application on my hands. But that's biting off more than I can chew, and my programming skills are such that it would take me months to get even some sort of basic hack going.

I hate maintaining so many different bookmark files, esp. when they aren't compatible with each other and don't sync bidirectionally (or unidirectionally, for that matter).

Is there a better way? I know there are some payware programs that share bookmarks among Mac browsers, but they usually leave out one or two (esp. the new Netscape 9.0b1).

UPDATE: I think I'll try Deli.cio.us.

Bookit can handle the Mac side of things. ScreenCastsOnline covered it recently:

Why, in your opinion, is del.icio.us better?
