how to save these files ?

hi, how can i save those files with extensions .smil, .asx, or .ram from those internet radio , that it often has these files though they can be heard online ?

Files with extension .asx are just pointers to .asf files. There would not be much use in saving them. As for the others, can you play them and then retrieve them from your browser cache?

but can i just save the file ,of course the whole programme, without firstly playing the whole programme, says 60mins,such that i can play it offline

First you'll need the mplayer CLI. I don't remember where I got mine, but you should be able to use the ffmpegX mplayer binary.

Drop mplayer on a Terminal window, then write in -dumpstream followed by the url of the stream.
