How to get Safari to save Gmail password?

Hi everyone,

I know in FireFox I can save my Gmail username/password so I don't need to type it when I go to the login page. However, despite having the save password option enabled in Safari (ver 3), it does not offer to save my password when I go to the Gmail login page. Does anyone have any tips (maybe manually making a keychain entry or something?) for getting this to work?

Any help would be appreciated!
