hi all. i used firefox for years and went back to safari not long ago because firefox seemed slow a lot of the time. well, i really like the firefox rss reader that's built in, so i updated it a bit ago and am seeing how it is working nowadays. what the hell! it takes AT LEAST 30 seconds to open any web page. safari does this as expected (instantly or nearly instantly).

is there something i need to know about to make firefox work like a normal browser?!?!? thanks.

What Mac system are you running it on? What are your system specs?
I run FF 2.0.x on my MBP C2D and find it faster than Safari.

imac g4 1ghz, 2gb ram. running same version of firefox. os x 10.4.10.

While I'm a massive Mac zealot, browsing anything on a G4 is like pulling teeth.
I've never used anything above a G4 so I can't comment on anything else.

Firefox on Linux and Windows is super speedy, but then I am using a much more powerful machine than those G4s.
