OK, so I screwed up. I downloaded a bunch of photos from my camera to iPhoto, and deleted them from the SD card. Then I looked at them in iPhoto, and then replaced the actual iphoto library with a backup from a few days ago. I know, I know.

So, my question is: Can I recover them in any way? I deleted the real iPhoto library before copying the old one, and emptied the trash.
The SD card in the camera is (I think) FAT32 format, and I have access to a PC that can read it, or I can mount it on OSX - any chance going that way?

It's related, but since it is a different question, I thought I would start a new thread. Anyhow, I resolved it using Photorecover / Datarecover - would 100% recommend them.

i googled this and could not find it - do you have any more information on photorecover/datarecover?

i deleted my photos and need them back.
