OK, so I recovered the image files I had deleted using 'Klix', and now have the files, and previews of them in Klix. But I can't open them in preview or anything else - I get:

"Couldn't open file - it may be corrupt or not a format that Preview recognizes"

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I know Graphicconverter can sometimes open files that Preview chokes on.

Thanks - I resolved this using DataRecover / Photorecover to pull the files off the card. It worked really well. Thanks for the advice Jackie!
