can iweb post 2 different sites?
i will explain it this way, i am new to web stuff.
i have 2 different domains and i want to use iweb to create both of them.
so i create 2 different sites and than save them to a folder and FTP them.
i would like to do so to 2 different domains, but when i go to save the active file to a folder, iweb saves both of the created sites and thus the issue...
any thoughts?
yes i do have different creation software, but i like iweb for now...
but this might be one of the issues where it ties my hands...

Yes there is a way of doing it.

This is how I do it. iWeb saves your site(s) as domain files. That is a file that is named 'domain', look in spotlight to see where that file is. Once I had found it I moved it to a document folder specific to that project Duplicated it and renamed the copy. That means that if you now open iweb it will not open that file as a default, but rather allow you to create a new site.

Then you can do the same thing with the other sites you build. When you want to open a specific site in iWeb just go to your document folder and open the domain file and it'll automatically open in iWeb. Viola!

I just took the time to see where the default domain file lives. It is your home directory>library>Application Support>iWeb.

I was doing this for a while personally I have a couple websites that I maintain. I was hoping with the new release I'd be able to have a more hierarchical website. Other then albums there seems to be little that I can do in that manner. I've moved most of my stuff over to dreamweaver anyways.

I'll still use iweb for some small projects, its been a while since I used it so I need to re-aquaint myself with how to do stuff (like resize images w/o constraining proportions - see my other thread - D'OH)

Use different naming conventions so the files don't over write each other. I have one site that most of my stuff is iWeb but I have a couple of pages created in DW. I just use a different naming convention to keep them separate.

I generally don't do this however, and I'll be moving the bulk of the stuff over to Dw. Having a mixed environment like that is a headache and a problem waiting to happen. I just needed to do something quickly to show off a new site to someone and I couldn't do it quickly in dw but iWeb handled everything except the flash videos. That's what I needed Dw for.

If at all possible, I would suggest not using FTP either if SFTP is available to you.
