I'm now starting to make my main central media server with my DVDs and family movie files.

I'm using HandBrake to convert my DVDs to .m4v H264 files ready for iTunes. But the only way I seem to be able to get them into iTunes is to have iTunes make another copy via its import them. I already have over 200GB of family favorites converted over; what a pain to have to go through yet another hoop with iTunes copying the file over, then deleting the original.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah. Uncheck "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" in iTunes preferences (under Advanced - General).
