Why does keychain, when I create a new secure note, store it as an application password. I really just want to store some info as a secure note

Can you be a bit clearer - do you mean that a new note is not created, but an "A" icon is instead? Have you tried verifying and repairing your keychain?

I have verified and repaired keychain. That didn't fix the issue.
