I work for a small printers – mainly general stuff: small stationery, mail outs, leaflets etc. Outputting to a CTP system.
Whilst I have years of experience of working on Macs, I am relatively new to this aspect (ie: taking someone else's files and preparing for print); in my previous role I was at the other end of the "food chain" - ie: the guy supplying to the printers.
Quite often we get Acrobat files direct for ouutputting. I am a little confused by different file formats PDF/X etc. etc.
Can anyone refer me to any guides for printers dealing with Acrobats; or recommend any decent books that could answer questions that crop up from time to time. I am especially interested in issues that arise with Acrobat files supplied to printers.
