I'm looking for a web based app that a team of 20 or so people spread across 5 different offices can use to track a roster of 4-500 consultants that they use regularly. Info like resumes, work history with this organization, rates, satisfaction ratings from staff who have used them etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You need to build yourself a custom database.

Really? I thought there might be something off the shelf for this.

Most likely not. Everybody and their dog has their own custom database, because the workflows in every company are different. Even if there was something out there, chances are there would be some things it would not do that someday you would want it to do, or some features you have no need for, or some aspect of its usability in relation to your workflow that is sub-optimal. All of this would require additional cost to hack up, and it can be very difficult to make somebody else's code to fit in your environment where their coding style might be sloppy, unfamiliar, thick and dense, in a language that your web server doesn't support, etc.

At the end of the day, you'd be better off just designing your own DB (or paying somebody to do it). It would be more streamlined, and quite likely cheaper.

No problem... I know that a few people here, other than myself, have done several web applications before. You could probably get a good quote here. If there was such a product, it is quite likely that a custom DB would still be cheaper than paying for a commercial product. A seasoned web app guy/girl would crank out something for you pretty quickly.
