Hi, I am new here and thought you guys might be able to help me out. I have been trying to organize a large music collection in itunes. All is going well with the exception of the artwork. It seems that when I add artwork to an album it only seems to want to show on certain songs. When I add the artwork I drag it from the source (usually a web image) to the open info box to the artwork field and then click ok. It processes and some songs take it and others not. Is there a way to get songs from common albums to automatically take the artwork from the other files with the artwork. I hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advance

Make sure all your artist and album ID tags are matching, select all songs and then drag the album artwork to the artwork viewer. Make sure it's showing for Selected Item and not Now Playing though. You can toggle that by clicking the title bar.

Also, if the album is a compilation, make sure the proper compilation tag have been set for the whole album.

Be aware that dropping an image onto the "Now Playing" area will add that image to the song file (or files if it's set to "Selected Item" and you have multiple songs selected). Meaning it does not replace the previous image, it adds another one to it. Works great for multiple panels of the cover art.

Selecting multiple songs and then dropping an image into the image well of the Get Info window will replace the existing artwork.

I had edited all of my tags first; artist, album artist, and album.

I think what you are saying is the way I was doing it. Getting info for multiple selections and dropping the image in the artwork field. This would work for most of the files. It would look fine in the coverflow. Some covers would be missing from the tracks. I am trying to say since for example 7/10 songs accepted the cover and the remaining 3 did not. Could I somehow tell the 3 remaining songs "you are part of album "A", get with it and pull the artwork from the album of which you belong" or will I need to manually add the artwork again and recheck each file to see if it took. Btw, I have seen similar behavior when doing batch tag editing.
Thanks for your replies.

You'll need to manually add the artwork.

But fear not. In the artwork tab of the Get Info window (single selection) you can select the artwork and copy it, click the Next button and just paste the artwork.

Really though, adding it to multiple files is supposed to work.

I did not know I could copy and paste that field. Thanks for that. It will make it easier now that I know I can keep the image on the clipboard.
Thanks
