i guess the only way to uninstall a software is to move the files to the garbage can and delete it...what if you don't know what files/folders are involved...how do you safely uninstall/del a proggie?

thanks

Yes, commonly to move the files to the trash and empty it is what it takes to uninstall an app… then you can use uninstallers like AppZapper that will show you a list of related files to such app like preferences… there are also some apps -either free or not- that cover what you ask for, look here…

AppZapper 1.8 - MacUpdate

CleanApp 2.4.1 - MacUpdate

AppCleaner 1.0.3 - MacUpdate

BTW, you would get more advice if asked @ the Mac OS X board

Sorry, I don't understand your last sentence (maybe you left a word out albeit english is not my main language)… do you need more uninstallers?, truth be told I use AppZapper and that's all… maybe the free AppCleaner is good enough… are you having a hard time to uninstall any particular app?

BTW, some apps -the least- come with their very own uninstallers.

In most cases (read: 90 %), an uninstaller app is not necessary.
