I dont know if this belongs here but anyway this looked like the right place

I connect to the internet on my MacBook Pro via wireless, I have a wireless network in my house encrypted. Lately I've been having problems that have become unavoidable. Lately, websites tend to last way too long loading, some of these dont even load and i have to keep refreshing... Facebook, youtube, MacNN, Apple, Mininova... basically all websites i use. The problem also occurs with Adium, because it lasts as long a 3-5 minutes to connect, something that is supposed to be very quickly.

WHat kind of problem is this?... because it doesnt happen on my other computer on the network (2 desktop PCs)

My iBook has been having speed issues with FaceBook and Apple. I find FaceBook is pretty slow anywhere.

Are the 2 desktop PCs also using the wireless network or are they wired to the router you are using? What sort of wireless router are you using? The more detail you can provide will allow us to assist you faster.

Oh and this should go in Networking, as it appears to be a networking issue, perhaps one of our wonderful Moderators will move this accordingly

Try resetting the router. I occasionally have to reset my Linksys WRT54G, even though the wired PCs are connecting without a hitch.

It's quick and can't hurt (he says bravely).

If you have not already done so you can update the WGT624v3 firmware which may address the connectivity issues.

Also check the dhcp settings in your wireless router setup.

Just make sure you are actually using DCHP between the 3 computers on your network.

You could also try connecting your macbook using a ethernet cable and see if this resolves the issue, then you know it is just the wireless part and not something else.

Have you powered everything down for more than 20 seconds? Turn things back on in order, first modem, then router, then pcs, then macbook.

Clear your browser cache, shutdown your macbook, restart it again. Connect it directly to your speedtouch modem, set up a new location in your network preferences and test the speeds on different sites all around the globe.
