Ok here is the website i am trying to copy an image from and here is the image. I am not trying to do anything illegal with it. Just want to put it on my screen saver. I ran in a mountain bike competition and the guy in the blue is someone that was on my team.

I tried everything I know and was to no success. Is there a way to do this.

You can use Safari's Activity window to find resources included on a web page. Hit command-option-A to bring up the window and then look for a resource of the right type and approximately the right size. Double clicking on it should open up another window with only that resource. From there you can save it or find the URL.

Cool. Thanks. I thought it was javascript keeping me from it, but I turned it off in firefox and still had problems. Then I tried burrowing through the source code without success. The Safari trick worked.

Window->Activity

shows all elements of an open web page. Double-clicking opens it in a new window.

The activity window really comes in handy. I feel good sticking it to a site that won't even let me save a picture to my HD.

The trick is that it's the background image of a DIV and the image URL is encoded as HTML entities. It's crude, but enough to stop most people, I guess.
