I want to order this, but I am not in Region 1. I am in region 3. This isn't necessarily a problem, since I don't actually own a DVD player. I watch DVDs on my computer. Question: If I go ahead and order these DVDs, will there be a freeware way around every conceivable PAL/NTSC and Region Code difficulty so long as I am watching them on my computer?

You should be able to use VLC for region free watching, but it sometimes has troubles with menus.

As an alternative, you could use MactheRipper to make the DVD region free, but that would mean a lot more work, and a lot of dvd's.

If al else fails, you can buy €25,- dvd players just about everywhere nowadays, just buy a special player for the series.

VLC is normally fine. I've heard some Intel Macs have stricter region locking so that even VLC can't get through, but I don't know much about that.

My friend's MacBook is one of these. If you have a newer drive, the drive itself enforces region locking at the data reading level, and VLC will not work.
