I have an iMAC OSX 10.2.8
I can send email but cannot receive emaii. The following appears on the screen;
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account “ROBERT FELDMAN” or try again.
The server error encountered was: The user name and password specified in Mail preferences were not accepted by the server.
If that doesn't work, you should try deleting the keychain entry for the account. Just make sure you know what your user name and password are. (I think keychain has an option to display those, b/c they are normally masked.)
The server is not accepting your username or password. This could be because the wrong user/pass is being sent, or your account is no longer valid. I would check on both of these possibilities before going any further.
