Just have a little problem with Safari 3.0 on Windows.

This doesn't happen on every site, but a forum I frequent on proboards is having text problems which aren't apparent on IE. The text seems to be bold and slightly blurred/out of focus.

Here's the images, the difference is quite apparent:

Safari

Internet Explorer

Anything I can do to fix this?

It's not a "Problem" it's just a difference between the browsers and the fonts and styling they use.

Is there anyway to get the writing crisper on Safari, or change the settings to make it more like IE?

No, because it's really a Mac OS X thing, the font engine and rendering is different from Windows.

So, it should look better if it's displayed on a mac?

Safari on both platforms uses the Mac text rendering engine. It might look a little better on a Mac because the Mac would probably be calibrated for it, but overall, it will look very similar.

It's just really strange as it's quite blurry and makes you strain to try and read it. I thought perhaphs there was an option I could change, but evidently not...

I find it more odd that Windows' rendering makes the C look like half a square. The Safari text does look strangely blurry, but not that hard to read for me. But I guess I have good eyesight or something.
