Hi all i was wondering if theres something out there for my mac that is a little bit similar to apple's logic studio. I want to try making some electronic music but dont want to spend 400 bucks on a program. I just want something to play around with so if theres anything you know of that can do this please post it here. Thanks.

It depends on how similar is "similar." I think all Macs these days come with GarageBand.

Eh, GarageBand is pretty capable, especially as a loop editor, but if you really want the fancy stuff, you're probably going to have to lay down the cash.
(To do GarageBand '08, skip all the "MagicBand" crap and drop back down to the real editor)

Well I was messing with garage band today and your right. It does look capable. I think I am going to pick up a keyboard and try messing around with it but does anyone know much about these because I am totally lost in this area.

Logic is well worth the money if you're serious about learning electronic music production.

Garageband is the thing if you just want to play around. It's very capable for, well, anyone who is making music in their garage. If you need more, you need to lay down for professional software.

If you're gonna be doing loop-based electronic music and spending money on it, take a gander at Ableton Live.
It's FAR better suited to loop-based production - in fact, that's what it's built for (and performing it live). I believe there's a demo version on their homepage as well.
Amazing software, and well worth the money.
