I’m having a major problem formatting a chart (bar graph) in Word. I have a set of numbers that corresponds to average GRE scores based on different academic majors; I am using these numbers to format a graph for our department to use for recruitment purposes, etc. So far, so good. I formatted the graph so that it moves from left to right, lowest to highest. That is, the departments that get the lowest scores are on the left side of the bar chart and the highest scores are on the right. It looks pretty good. However, the consensus in our department is that, while this is exactly the way the chart ought to look, the accompanying legend should be reversed. On the legend the scores go from lowest to highest, top to bottom, and we would prefer highest to lowest score, top to bottom. To explain: the default formatting in Word is that the scores on the left hand side of the chart are presented on the top of the legend, and descend in correspondence with the scores moving to the right. I want to set it up so that the chart remains the same but the legend presents the right-most scores on top and moves down as the scores move to the left of the chart. Is this clear? And more importantly, is this possible? Thanks in advance.
