I have set up mail.app to receive and send from my gmail account. All my email from gmail got downloaded, but I want to have my Sent Mail to download too. Is there any way to do that? Maybe using a particular filter...

My other question is, can I have my ISP account active in mail.app without checking for new mail? Is it as simple as unchecking the box "include when automatically checking for new mail" button? I have all incoming ISP mail forward to gmail already, but I want to be able to send or reply to email using the ISP account without getting twice the email coming in(once from gmail, and the other from my ISP server if that account is active in mail.app). I know I can use the gmail web interface to send out from the other account, but want to be able to do that in mail.app

Sorry if it sounds confusing...

Under the Advanced tab in your Accounts preferences there is also an "Enable this account" checkbox, so your answer to question 2 is yes.

I don't think you can download sent mail of a POP account like that. If your ISP provides IMAP, I would definitely use that.

Thanks. It did work. Still wondering if anyone knows how to forward my gmail sent items to mail.app with some filters etc...

Well, for starters, can you tell GMail which folder to use for storing sent mail? If you can't, there is no way any filters in any other client can affect mail that it cannot access.
