i've done a clean install of leopard. but applejack tells me i'm no longer a root user and must quit

(everything else is fine: except for macnn pages that sqaulk 'oh my god - no way'. this really pisses me off)

but anyway: how can i easily regain my root user status?

thanx

I'll be the first:

If you have to ask, you definitely shouldn't be running as root.

There, I've said it. I'm not gonna get involved in the ensuing discussion.

I was also informed that I was no longer the user and that I was required to enter the administrator's name. As I'm the only user, I phoned apple support and was given a whole load of script to type in to sort this out

posthumanus: you can run Applejack as root by typing in:

Code:
sudo open /Applications/Applejack.app (however it is named)
This is absolutely identical to running Applejack as the root user

Yeah, I looked at the AJ page prior to my post Analogika... what's your point? If you boot off of some other media to run it, you can still invoke it this way, you will be invoking it this way when run through single user mode, and you can invoke it this way on your currently running system as described.
