For what purposes do you still need Apple Remote Desktop under Leopard? I have a network with 4 Macs. Is there anything I could not do with screen sharing that I can do with ARD?

Lots.

Big stuff being executing packages and controlling when updates go out. Screen Sharing is not really ready for enterprise (And sure, Remote Desktop is not either, but it's at least alot closer).

Is it me or ARD is less performant under Leopard? I'm using version 3.2 to administer my old G4 iMac since I got my new Intel iMac, and under Tiger, the graphics were of good quality and the UI was very responsive. Today I used it for the first time since upgrading to Leopard and I immediatly noticed the remote desktop looked like an overly-compressed JPEG, and the UI lagged as hell (especially when moving windows). The quality settings are the same as before. The two computers are connected through a hub and are not far from each other.
