i upgraded from Suitcase X1 to Suitcase Fusion about a week ago and noticed suddenly i was having some issues exporting pdf files from both InDesign and Illustrator. after reading posts in forums for a few hours, i found a few fixes that might help anyone else having problems.

other users specify crashing, corrupt pdfs, corrupt eps's among others. the only problem i was having was my pdf files seemed to be damaged. when i would open them after saving from indesign or illustrator, they would ask (upon closing in acrobat) to be saved. if i saved they would appear as a zero kb file size, but still open. somehow they was some minor damage.

the fix was deactivating "Enable FontSense Support" in the Suitcase Fusion Auto-Activation Preferences in both Indesign and Illustrator. as soon as i did this and relaunched each, my pdfs saved perfecty again.

very weird, but i dont think there is too much value to the "FontSense" feature anyway.

the other avenue that could help with SF problems is deleting font cache.
in OSX 10.4, those files are in /Library/Caches/com.apple.ats folder
quit all apps including suitcase, delete that com.apple.ats folder, and restart your mac.
that rebuilds a new font cache. guess it can remove some damaged font info.

hope it helps someone else too.
