Leopard Preview: Zoom to Fit broken

If I open an image in Preview(4) it autofits horizontally but not vertically. If I click Zoom to Fit, it only fits horizontally. If I resize the window it automagically resizes the image (at least with PDFs) so it still fits in the window, but only horizontally. In Tiger it worked horizontally AND vertically. I have Preferences set to "Auto-scale" for PDFs and Scale to fit window for Images. What's going on?

In case it makes a difference, Leopard is running from an external drive from a clean install, Tiger is installed on the main drive. So I can actually have both Preview 3 and 4 running at the same time.
