Hej everybody!

Recently I modified my icons using CandyBar in the two accounts I have in my mac.
I my main account, the finder icon does not change at all! But in the other user account,
CandyBar changed it like a charm!

I tried several times and I really can not change my finder icon!

Moreover, sometimes when I boot the computer with the trash can full, it is also with
the old original icon, and when I empty it, it returns to my new changed one.

Strange...
I have researched on Google but not found anything about it yet.
If someone have a clue, please let me know!

Thanks!
G.

I have had the same problem with my trash can when I was using Tiger. For some reason it didn't start right away after changing the icon. It started happening about a couple weeks after I had already changed the icon..weird.

As for the finder, I've also had a few problems with it as well. I got it to work after changing it back to default and then re-applying the new icon a few times and then rebooting. I'm going to assume that you've already tried that though. Finder icon is a little stubborn, good luck!

Try deleting (or just move to the desktop) "com.apple.dock.iconcache.501" in the "root"/Library/Caches/ folder. Then restart or relaunch the Finder and Dock. That's what worked for me.

Superb!
Worked perfectly!
Just needed to clean the icon cache!

Back in Windows, I used a software to do that...
Thanks for pointing the location of the icon cache on Mac OS!

Cheers,
G.
